It’s called “America’s Greatest Sandwich”. And ShareASale has exceptionally strong enthusiasm when it comes to food so when we heard that National Cheeseburger Day was looming, we knew we wanted in on the action.
The internet and our meme-loving culture fuels most of these unofficial holidays – many of which have no confirmed origin and may or may not be real. But let’s face it, we’re an internet company and we love food so we’ll happily rally behind these invented holidays.
Despite a collective resolution to honor the day, there was major dissent between selecting ONE singular burger provider. The ShareASale office is full of diverse eater profiles – the Classic Midwesterner (all meat, all ways), Non-beef Carnivore, Pescetarian, Vegetarian and everything in between.
The most popular vote across the board was the notorious Au Cheval burger, currently ranked #1 burger in America by Food Network. However, no matter what bribery you bring to the table (trust us, we tried), they will not prepare their burgers to go. Our second and third failed attempts were Kumas Corner (delivery out of range) and The World Famous “Cheeseborger” of SNL fame from the Billy Goat Tavern (cash only – who carries cash anymore?)
Here are some featured employees with their burgers of choice:
1) Jonathan, UX Designer – Burger choice: RPM Steakburger
“The Upscale Burger”. With a location dangerously close to the office, RPM Steak has become a fixture in the hearts (and stomachs) of ShareASale employees.
2) Morgan, Merchant Development Specialist – Burger choice: EPIC Burger
“The Modern Classic American Burger.” Epic Burger, founded by a native Chicagoan, features non-processed, all natural food in a fast and casual environment. In addition to providing delicious and photogenic burgers (using only 60 total ingredients in their whole kitchen!) they aim to provoke thought around how food is raised, grown, transported, processed and packaged.
3) Rolando, Customer Retention Manager – Burger choice: Lyfe Kitchen Veggie “Cheese” Burger
“The Crunchy Alternative Burger”. Lyfe Kitchen’s take on the Classic Cheeseburger is comprised of vegan ingredients and served with dairy-free Daiya cheese. You can even get it on a gluten-free bun!
How are YOU going to celebrate?
