Product Showcases allow you to quickly highlight specific sub-sets of a retailer’s products based on either category or keyword.
They keep themselves up to date with the most recent products available based on the keyword or category that you select!
For example, you might have one Product Showcase that will always be populated with t-shirts from newly released movies or television shows. One month it might be Harry Potter and the next it might be The Hunger Games. Either way your Product Showcase will have up to date content based on the Datafeed that Merchants maintain on ShareASale.
Before we get started, here are a few important features about ShareASale Product Showcases:
- They can contain products from either a single Merchant, or multiple Merchants.
- Products and content are based on a Merchant’s Datafeed – so you’ll see the best results with those Merchants that utilize the Datafeed feature the best.
- The products will not always be the same! This is dynamic data based on your search query or category and will change on a regular basis.
- If you’d prefer to pick and choose which products you want, in a static element, you can utilize the ShareASale Make-A-Page Tool.
Ok let’s get started! First things first – this is the end result of what we are making, go ahead and click on it and you can see the pop-out display.
Start at the “Get Links” page for an individual Merchant.
Click to Add a New Showcase
Choose a Search by either Category or Keyword
Results will Show to the Side – I first selected the category “Movies”.
Then I switched to a keyword search for the word “Fish”
You can preview the popout display by clicking on the individual images.
Use the styling options to fit your blog with colors, sizes, and options.
Links automatically go to the specific products to increase conversion!
To enter the Multi-Merchant mode, click on the Tools menu – Product Showcase.
Hey Brian,
Is it possible to display just a single product at a time (vs. a 2×3 grid) in the product showcase?
-ts
Hi Brian,
I think this is a great tool but it needs a little improvement. When I create a showcase I target products around my blog, site and keywords. The idea being to suggest products that my visitors may already be in the mood to buy. When I configured the widget, I was surprised to find that the “shop now” button just takes visitors to the home page of partner and can’t be configured to a targeted link based on keyword. Instead once visitors leave my site they must take the extra step of searching for the products or themes in the partner site unless they click a single product from the list of randomly generated ones. A work-around for the slightly tech savvy is to hide this “shop now” button using css and then create your own and connect it to a Sharesale custom link but that may not be practical for everyone. It would be great to see a little more customization on this in the future. It might bring better conversions.
Great suggestion – thank you, and we’ll get working on it!
When will this generic link issue be fixed?
I tried several times to create a product showcase. I have not been successful. I’m doing something wrong but I cannot figure it out. Can you help? Thanks.
Jack
not working.
I tried it on sidebar,on a pade and its just not show me anything-blank page/square.
can i get the code at html?
Is the product showcase comparable with WordPress.com blogs? If not, could you recommend a similar tool?
I agree with HaleGrafx.
The SHOP NOW button needs to be worked on. It may affect conversions as it is now.
I just started using the Product Showcase a few days ago. Awesome tool. To think I’ve been on SAS for a couple of years and never knew of it.
I have had inconsistent success with different merchants setting these up in wordpress – some seem to work fine whilst I get blank boxes with others. Assume this is due to the backend data feeds from the merchants. Any suggestions on how to resolve?
In theory, I really like this Product Showcase feature, and I think it could provide an easy way to integrate product into my site, except that it is not responsive, so it doesn’t really fit my website.
I want to use the second layout type to create a wide banner that stretches across the top of my site, but the width is predefined, so it either looks way too small for the page, or, if I switch to a mobile view, it pretty much breaks the page because it is way too wide.
Is there a solution? I’d love to implement this ASAP, because I think it would generate sales easily.
Thanks Luke – we’ll work on some solutions for you here.
