FTP Application Timesavers

February 28, 2013 by ShareASale Author 1 Comment

In my 1st #THEINTERFACE post I shared a few new time saving additions that we had added to put a little more time back in your day.

Here are a few more “timesavers” we have added to our Affiliate and Merchant FTP process to do the same!

The first FTP timesaver is the addition/option for Affiliates to apply for FTP access right after applying to a Merchant’s program.

In the past, you would have had to apply to the program and then apply for FTP access in another location in the UI. As seen above, highlighted in green, you can now apply for FTP access as soon as you agree with the Merchant’s “Terms & Conditions” and complete your application!

Please keep in mind that this option will only be available for those Merchants that have a datafeed available and the Affiliate is still required to provide a brief comment upon applying.

Merchants will also notice a new feature for FTP. Now a Merchant can setup the option of approving an Affiliate’s FTP application automatically when they are admitted to into your program!

You can find this new feature under the “Affiliates” tab and by clicking the “FTP Access Approvals” feature in the ShareASale Merchant UI.

    Hi Jason
Is it because merchants are charged by Shareasale to offer FTP access to affiliates that one doesn’t always get accepted. I’ve not had this experience with other networks, you are probably aware that on other networks once accepted to a program the affiliate also has access to their datafeed.
I’d also like to see a response from merchants even if it means I’ve been declined from FTP access, instead one waits weeks or months with still no change to the note saying I’ve already applied. Pity as I love to use automated datafeeds. I use a program that saves me days of work using datafeeds plus a WordPress plugin, hence my wanting more datafeeds to add to even more niche websites.

    Regards
    Derek
