Welcome to the very first of our Bi-Monthly Merchant Spotlights! The Merchant Spotlight is where we invite one ShareASale merchant to share their knowledge with us and our affiliates. The idea is we want to bring the light a merchant we feel is a great pleasure to not only work with, but offers products that will bring positive results to you as well. So without further ado…I’d like to present to you – POOLCENTER.com!
POOLCENTER.com began as a local pool service company in 1988 as Cox Pool & Spa Services and went on-line in January 1996, essentially establishing one of the very first websites for pool owners and users. The site provided clear and accurate information on pool topics, competent technical support, exceptional customer support/service, and quality swimming pool products at a fair and competitive price to customers worldwide.
POOLCENTER.com began as “Pool Info” pages filling the need of some pool service customers from Cox Pool & Spa Services that were requesting specific information regarding the care and maintenance of their swimming pools. It then became the first online portal for swimming pool information, social interaction for people with similar interests (swimming pools!) as well as a place to find all those needed pool supplies that a swimming pool is going to need at some point. Building on the success of the information portal for local pool service customers, Cox Pool & Spa Services decided to begin selling pool supplies to customers across the country.
POOLCENTER.com is now a fast growing online pool store taking pride in its more than 100 years of combined pool technical experience, hundreds of pool related online articles on all pool related topics, an online Pool Community “Community Pool” (first of its kind), and still able to find all those hard to locate parts. PoolCenter.com products ship from various locations around the United States to various locations around the world.
POOLCENTER.com opened their affiliate account on ShareASale in late April, 2009 listed in the Home & Garden category. The competitiveness of the program’s offer as contributed to great growth over the last year. Affiliates earn 7% on every sale with a chance to earn 8%, 9%, or 10% through the tiered incentive program which is based on the previous month’s sales. Affiliates can earn on returning referrals up to 60 days after the original cookie is placed. POOLCENTER.com sends out an affiliate newsletter every month that keeps their partners informed with great marketing and sales tips including demographic information, product sales, best sellers, seasonality trends, and all sorts of goodies to help keep you on top of the pool market. POOLCENTER.com’s exclusive ShareASale affiliate program utilizes other great tools to assist their affiliate partners, such as the coupon and deals database, widgets, an extensive banner and text link inventory, and a datafeed with over 11,000 products.
Speaking of products, POOLCENTER.com has a lot of great product categories to fit your traffic niche. For example, they have a dedicated product category for eco-friendly pool supplies. If you are wondering how your traffic would fit with a pool demographic, Rob has created a great handout to give you a few ideas. For instance, do you have parenting websites? POOLCENTER.com offers baby pools and floats, diving games, pool safety products, and pool alarms.
Even beyond the products at POOLCENTER.com, you are brining your customers to a treasure trove of pool resources and tapping them into the world’s largest swimming pool community. There are dozens of content topics and articles available for you to link to from the Pool Info pages and even a glossary of pool terms in the Pool Wiki page.
From a potential earnings standpoint, the graph below shows EPC from the POOLCENTER.com program over the past 45 days. The 7 day EPC (as of 3.16.10) is $30.79 and the 30 day is currently $39.51. As you can see, this is a nice steadily growing program with high earning potential even in its relative infancy.
The second chart illustrates the average order on affiliate transactions during the past 45 days. As you can see, as we move into spring the average order has been steadily going up. The 7 day average order is $101 and the 30 day average order is $166.

July 24, 2010 at 9:53 amWe have occasionally ordered from Pool Center for pool supplies we have needed for customer’s pools when our local pool supply company cannot get it to us in the timeframe needed. We have been happy with the service and speed of delivery of their pool products! Just wanted to give out some kudos!

November 9, 2010 at 9:12 pmMy favorite tool for removing the leaves from the pool will always be a leaf rake. Not to be confused with a “dip and flip” flat network type skimmer, leaf rake has a purse or pocket depth. This allows it to be used as a “bag drag” him back by pulling or pushing on the floor and pick the leaves of the plant. After practicing with a leaf rake, one can become proficient in cleaning a pool. Even if a group is dark green and filled with a layer of leaves of feet deep – patience, a strong back and a good leaf rake can be cleaned in a couple of hours.

January 6, 2011 at 5:08 pmWe are thinking of adding an online storefront to compliment our pool service cleaning business. This program would work great for us to service customers with products that we might not carry. Thanks.
