Ok… I did it!
In response to Carolyn’s Brussels Sprouts Challenge …I did it!
It all went down Saturday afternoon… I went and picked up some fresh tilapia from the grocery and cooked up some yellow rice to go with the brussels sprouts.
The sprouts were a lot bigger than I thought they would be, but very easy to prepare! RECEIPE
I really can’t explain the taste in words… so I captured the moment on video They honestly weren’t as bad as I expected…
Maybe I’ll start trying more new foods… suggestions?

Good for you Jason for trying them, and thanks for the laugh, that vid was a riot. How do you feel about Asparagus?

May 15, 2009 at 10:24 amI think asparagus is too good to be a challenge. I think Carolyn should make an assortment of vegetables and see if you can even identify them. :)

June 9, 2009 at 5:33 pmI love brussels sprouts. You haven’t tasted them at their best until you steam them right from the garden and put real organic butter on them while they’re still hot!
I love asparagus too. Our little local market (David’s in Texas) has them on sale in their $1 section. (They’re usually $2.69 a can!) They’re great right out of the can, heated, or in cold salads. I haven’t tried growing any.
Vegetables right out of the garden are delicious. Sometimes I eat them right there – especially the sweet corn. Yummy. If you don’t have a garden look for a farmer’s market, vegetable stand or CSA (consumer-supported agriculture) near you. There are some great sites to help you find them.
