We have reached the final part in our ‘How to Grow Your Blog’ series. If you’ve been following along since Part One of ‘How to Start a Blog,’ I applaud you for sticking with me! I hope you have learned a lot and have become more comfortable using your blog and going “behind the scenes.”

Now that you’ve established your blog and are starting to grow your following through newsletters and various plugins, you should know how to monetize your content!

One way to monetize your website is through the use of Affiliate links. You can partner with thousands of different brands and promote them on your website – at no cost to you.

There are a few things to keep in mind before applying to join multiple programs and implementing banner ads on your website:

  • Make sure you are teaming up with brands that you have used, or would use yourself. This helps to build trust with your readers.
  • Try out different types of Affiliate links. There are banner ads, text links, products, coupons, widgets, videos and more! Keep an eye on your reporting to find out which type of link is most successful with your audience.
  • Use your Affiliate links within your newsletters and on your social channels to increase your reach and message.
  • Read the newsletters from your Merchant partners about new creatives, coupons, and promotions and take action when they are available to you.
  • Befriend program managers! 

It’s never too early to start monetizing your website as long as it’s authentic. Think of it as a way to assist your visitors in making their purchasing decisions. Affiliate Marketing is an awesome technique to make money with your content and advice, turning your blog into a business!
