That’s right Texas… I am excited to announce the ShareASale Roadshow – Texas Style!
I am flying to Houston on July 19th picking up a car (with A/C) and driving city to city in “The Lone Star State” with a car full of goodies. I will be stopping in a number of places would love to meet up with you!
If you are in any of these cities and can help me out by suggesting meeting spots, please let me know.
Houston – 7/19
San Antonio – 7/20
Austin – 7/21
Dallas/Ft. Worth – 7/22 & possibly the 23rd (I hear Dallas is pretty giant, so I may possibly have a Dallas North & Dallas South Meetup)
I will be announcing official locations and times in individual posts soon.
Each of the cities will be super-casual, good times! The meetup is open to anyone that is already part of the ShareASale community or looking to join us. Bring your questions, comments, concerns and even a whiteboard if you want.
PS: Am i required to wear a cowboy hat?
See ya soon!
Please let me know if you are interested in joining or have meetup recommendations: jason at ShareASale dot com
UPDATE: Official times and locations!!!!

April 19, 2010 at 3:24 pmI think it is a requirement that if you’re going to Texas, you post pictures of yourself in a stetson AND boots for posterity.
Extra points if you do it at the Alamo.
I’ll even buy you a bottle of champagne (my choice and not the cheap crappy stuff) if you manage to get a picture of yourself at the Alamo, wearing a stetson, boots and with a horse. Consider it a challenge. :D

April 19, 2010 at 4:57 pmHey Jason,
Here is a great restaurant for your event
http://www.pappasitos.com
Their website’s location finder is not working for me but I managed to find the contact info at the corporate site.
http://www.pappas.com/loc_houstonsitosinfo.html
I’d recommend this location:
15280 I-45 North at Airtex,
Houston, TX 77090
Tel 281.821.4500
Fax 281.821.1969
They have a nice sized party/conference room for what you’re looking for and the food…ooh man the food.
It’s right off of I-45 which is one of the major freeways in Houston, making it very easy to find.

April 21, 2010 at 12:35 pmPlease don’t wear the cowboy hat. And for future reference, “Dallas” and “North Dallas” are NOT Dallas/FORT WORTH. North Dallas is as far from Fort Worth as you can get. Maybe you should plan a stop for Cowtown too?

May 3, 2010 at 6:19 pmThis is great news! First, before you get yourself into trouble, Dallas and Fort Worth are historic rivals and separate cities. With that being said, in the real world Dallas usually gets the meeting places, but if you choose Dallas it would be nice if you could pick someplace along or at the end of the TRE run so Fort Worth people can have easy access to the meeting location. Also, Arlington is centrally located between Dallas and Fort Worth, but it can be hectic when there is a Texas Rangers baseball or Dallas Cowboys football game going on. eBay is having their conference this week at the Hyatt Regency, Dallas, at the end of the TRE run at Dallas’ Union Station.
Be sure to pack the TUMS for all of the BBQ and hot sauce you’ll be eating.

May 4, 2010 at 2:19 pmHi Jason – I am looking forward to your visit to Texas! I agree with Marilyn, Arlington is a great location to meet for Dallas and Fort Worth.

May 6, 2010 at 5:57 pmJason, can’t wait to see you for your visit to AUSTIN!!! I totally second Michael’s comment about the y’all. BUT, you really aren’t qualified to speak Texan, unless you’re from here – so, don your Cowboy hat, boots and large belt buckle (although in July, it’s too hot for that), saddle up your horse, and hook ’em on into Austin! Once you’ve been here, you SURE won’t want to head back to up north!

May 11, 2010 at 10:43 amsince your colleague David Zelken just ate a 4 pound burrito, i think your texas roadshow should include stops for extra large foods. i’m betting you can find some huge steaks and racks of ribs. after all, everything is bigger in texas.
plus, i just want to see pics of you and great ShareASale affiliates chowing your way across the lone star state.

May 11, 2010 at 11:02 am@Lisa- Thankfully I didn’t have to eat the whole chimichanga to win the contest. I just had to eat the most in 6 minutes.
And I agree with you, Jason needs to do a bunch of eating contests in Texas to get some meat on his bones!

May 11, 2010 at 9:22 pmMy vote for an Austin meeting place is Habana. Grrrreat food, and there’s something for everyone, even us vegans! ;)
If Habana is too small, I vote for The Claypit.

May 19, 2010 at 5:12 pmSure wish you were stopping in Abilene, but I guess I’ll try to get down to Austin or San Antonio. We’re in Brownwood and that’s about 3-4 hours from either of them (depending on how you drive).
So, Jason – is the meeting going to be worth my husband taking a day of vacation to drive me to this thing? What will be going on, etc. I haven’t been to a roadshow before and am trying to figure out the logistics of getting there, etc.
Will this be an all day affair, lunch, dinner, or what?
thanks for any insight – sherry

June 7, 2010 at 8:24 pmAustin!!! Time to meet a former Longhorn and a University of Chicago MBA too.
We are new advertisers in your program and would love to meet you. And I don’t know about the cowboy hat but when you’re in Texas, you gotta say ya’ll!
There is a coffee house called Thunderbird on Manor Rd that is central and always has enough space for a small meet up. We could always set up a happy hour on 6th/4th ST if it ends up being a larger group. We would love to host.
P.S. I need another hundred calls per day through PPCall right now and I need some help with that. Someone please get in touch!
