Conference season is in full swing and as you travel the country attending industry shows, you will be meeting countless people. Remembering details, like a person’s name, can be difficult given the sheer amount of names you will be learning for the first time. Always make sure you repeat their name at the start or later in the conversation to help your brain remember it long term.
Other ways to improve your memory include making associations: find something interesting about one of their facial features and try to associate it with their name (Example: Robert has Red Hair; Corey has Curly Hair).
If you happen to see that person later in the day and remember their name, it will make a great impression and help you look polished and professional!
