Mothers’ Day is a day when we celebrate mothers worldwide – biological, adoptive, surrogate, grandmothers, mothers-to-be and mothers-in-law. It is a day of appreciate, gratitude and love for all the women in your life who raised or influenced you to become the person you are today.
Although we can never fully repay our mothers (or fathers) for all that they have done, giving a gift on Mothers’ Day is a small gesture of our thankfulness.
But what does one give to the mothers in our lives?
Any gift is a good gift for Mothers’ Day. I tend to think that homemade gifts, however, go above and beyond. Since it is a day of celebrating your mother, I always suggest making a gift that focuses on her children, her mother or her family in general.
Additional thoughts…
Keep in mind that a gift doesn’t have to be tangible. Your gift can be time spent with your mom or acts of service around the house. Tell your mom that you will spend an entire day, uninterrupted, with her doing whatever she would like. Or plan the day for her! If you have siblings, ask them to join in on the fun!
