One of my favourite aspects of my position is the ability to help affiliates learn and grow their businesses. I am constantly presented with questions regarding a range of topics starting with “How to become an affiliate”, up to how to integrate “advanced” methods.
On that note, I would like to announce an upcoming special session at Affiliate Summit East 2007.
I will be teaching 7 core subjects: Datafeeds, RSS, Blogs, PHP, mySQL, Web 2.0 and Analytics. If you have ever wanted to branch into any of these but haven’t known where to begin, I would encourage you to attend. No question will be too basic, and we will be beginning the day with the assumption that session attendees have very minimal experience in the above. Our goal is to have you blogging, using datafeeds, and downloading your Web 2.0 news via RSS, and analyzing the traffic on your website all by the end of the day.
To sign up please click here, or you can read more information on the official Affiliate Summit Blog here.
Who should attend: Any affiliate who understands the basics of performance marketing and is looking to branch out into new concepts that may have seemed intimidating or difficult to learn on their own.
Session Description: During this 4-hour session, attendees will be given hands-on experience in several mildly advanced techniques used by webmasters and affiliate marketers. These include the use of Datafeeds, RSS Feeds, Blogs, PHP, mySQL, Web 2.0 Concepts, and Analytics.
Each topic will be discussed from an entry level point of view, with the goal of taking each attendee from “Never heard of it‿ to “I understand and can use it on a basic level‿ – so any question will be welcomed. Material will be covered in an interactive manner so it is recommended (but not necessary) that you bring a laptop to receive a better understanding of the user experience.
By the end of the session you will be able to download and use a datafeed, use RSS to get your news, and write/maintain a Blog.
Session Policies: Spacing is limited for this session and only “Affiliates” may attend. (This session is not open to Merchants, Advertisers, Networks and/or Service Providers.) There is no fee to attend this session, however you must be a registered attendee of Affiliate Summit on an Exhibit Hall or Full Conference Pass.
